Love the water works. Playground is right next to water works, with spongy mat flooring great for bare feet. Flush toilets. Unisex bathrooms big enough for changing. Lots of curbside parking. Pavilion for shade.
It was good a long time ago. Not until construction started happening.
This is the most fabulous place to just "go" to. From relaxing in the shade or frolicking ( yes...I said frolicking) on the splash pad, napping in the sun or listening to the fountains, it is a wonderful escape. But, that being said...be sure to escape by 10:00pm...or you will be escaping from the Apple Valley bike cops!!!
When it is busy, it is hard to find an open picnic table, but there is lots of grass to sit on as well. Kelly Park is just off of the main downtown area in Apple Valley, just South of 42 on Galaxie Ave. It almost seems like it is being swallowed up by all of the new apartments. :-) Fridays in the summer are free live music nights.
Love this place! What a great park with a playground, splash pad, picnic tables, a small gazebo, public restrooms that can be used to change clothes if you need to. It is a ton of fun for young children! Under the playground is a rubber base that is super springy.
Nice splash pad. Playground with play surface that has a little give to it- nice to not have sand/gravel/woodchips. Has some fun features like chimes as well. Free live music on Friday evenings in the summer!
