a large church that feels small, has loads of programming, welcoming and positive atmosphere and strives to make a difference in the community...I love it... Ha, that's why I joined and thankful to be a pastor there!
Totally packed for the Holiday Boutique.
We went to our Grandchildren's Christmas program there in 2017 and I was very troubled about their belief/teachings in Jesus Christ. They had 3 Star War characters dressed, that were supposed to represent the three wise men. Well they portrayed them as not initially believing in Christ. What? It was apparent that the organizers or someone wanted their kids to be the stars of the stage. Pretty much the whole program was about the journey of the star wars characters (Center Stage) and trying to get some not so funny lines in. The youngest kids were on the lower front part of the stage and sang one song there at the beginning. Then were put at floor level and silent until the closing song. To make things worse they weren't even put back on stage, So no one could see them. So they sang a total of 2 songs during the program. The manger scene consisted of Mary and Some other woman and on the outside some guy dressed in a white formal dress shirt and a black formal vest. This was the worst Christmas Program I have ever been to in my 68 years of life. Know that you have to give the minimum of 1 star to be able to post.
Whether it's a church to just attend on the weekend or a church to be assimilated part of a larger family... This is a one size fits all. With kids, without kids, single, married, divorced, mental like me, all are welcome... without exception. Our kids learned the foundations of their faith here (and in our home). They have all grown up and moved away and we also moved from MN. If we are ever back in MN we always try to visit because it is a part of our family.
Grateful for Shepard of The Valley Church, they let us host parent resource groups here! Very warm and welcoming place.
